10th ANNIVERSARY :: EVERYONE WELCOME
SUNDAY, APRIL 27th, 2008 :: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Bonita Village Shopping Center :: 4180 Bonita Road


It was a fun-filled family day at the Chili Cook-off. $10 per person to sample the chili, and $10 per child to enjoy the “Kid’s Fun Zone Corral” pony rides, astro jumps, plus lots of games with w
inners prizes.

BBPA Chili Cook-Off Logo Chili judging by local VIP judges. Chili Teams were awarded: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $300, and 3rd Place $200. Best Decorated Booth won $100 and “People’s Choice for Best Chili” vote won $100. Pie Eating Contest sponsored by Henry’s Marketplace - Eastlake also had a cash prize of $100.

CHILI COOK-OFF APPLICATIONS:

Performing on stage was Uncle Bob & The Earth Movers Band and Disturbing The Peace Band. The car show featured the South Bay Cruisers. Limited edition 10th Annual Chili Cook-Off t-shirts, crafters, and food vendors. Interaction with law enforcement agencies: CHP, County Sheriffs, and Chula Vista Police and their Senior Volunteers. US Border Patrol and their robot “Casey” in the fun zone along with McGruff, the Crime Fighting Dog, and the Chula Vista Police Senior Volunteers providing free finger printing for children.

This fun-filled event benefits the Bonita Public Safety Center and supports two Southwestern College scholarships.
